MindShiftGear Announces New ‘FirstLight’ Backpacks
MindShiftGear has announced their new ‘FirstLight’ backpacks designed specifically for carrying big lenses around. These bags are for you wildlife or sports photographers who have the lucky job of having to carry around 300/400/500/600mm lenses around for long periods of time.
The new bags come in three sizes to cover medium, large and extra-large lenses, and they are also in line with airline restrictions for carry-on bags so you can fly with these (because who lets a $6,000-14,000 lens out of their sight?). The bags start a $229 for the 20L and go up from there. You can get the full lowdown over on MindShiftGear’s website here.
Canon Celebrates 10 years of 5D Cameras
It is pretty crazy to think that the Canon 5D series has been around for ten years now. To celebrate a decade of 5D cameras, Canon has produced this short video to highlight some of the achievements and innovations that the 5D brought to the industry.
The first thought I have of the 5D series was the industry sweeping changes that came as a result of the 5D Mark II and its video capabilities. It may not have been the first DSLR with video features, but it was the first to really harness the potential of video from an SLR style camera.
What was your 5D moment? How has this series of camera stood out to you over the years? Leave a comment below and let us know!
Sony RX100 M4 Impresses With This Crazy Slow Motion Video
Sony’s RX100 M4 is now available here in the states, and one of the highlight features of this new premium point and shoot camera is its crazy 960FPS slow motion capabilities (which it shares with the RX10 II as well). The video below was shot with the new RX100 M4 and demonstrates this impressive slow motion capability.
What makes this video even more impressive? It was shot handheld! This looks like a seriously compelling camera if you are looking for a pocketable camera that doesn’t compromise on features or performance.
You can grab one now over on B&H here for $949.
